DIRTy Squirrels Names Daniel Kolar the Squirrel of the Year

Updated: Jan 6, 2020

This year for the first time DIRTy Squirrels Racing awarded a trophy with the title "DIRTy Squirrel of the Year" to the teammate that demonstrated the most dedication and commitment, not only to the team, but to the sport of cycling and racing. After coming back from injury early on in the season, Dan came back hungry to race. Dan finished off the last two races of the Illinois State MTB Championship with a great attitude and happy to be back out on the trail. Not wanting end the season there, Dan decided to give this "Cyclocross" thing a try and showed up to every. single. race. Rain or shine, mud or dry, wet, cold, you name it. He was there. It was awesome to see him improve every week and have so much fun doing it. And we should mention he is awesome in the mud! In his very first race at Indian Lakes/Caldwell Woods, which was undoubtedly one of the muddiest races we've seen in a while, and would scare most sane people away from the sport, Dan went from being staged 100+ to place 35th. Awesome work! Congrats, Dan, on a well deserved award!
