DIRTy Squirrels Racing Finishes the XC Season with Four State Champions

Today DIRTy Squirrels Racing competed in the final race of the Illinois MTB State Championship Race Series IHRS, the Farmdale Festival, in Washington, IL. Six #squirrels raced in the Novice category, including Diego Mosquera, Christian Crespo, Daniel Kolar, Ivan Rojas, Bryant Fernández, and Victor Reyes, and every single one achieved a victory today. Starting with Bryant Fernández , who competed in his first XC race ever and finished strong, Ivan Rojas for racing his 2nd XC race and showing awesome improvement, Christian Crespo for placing 1st in his AG, Daniel for placing 3rd in his AG after coming back from injury, Victor Reyes for placing 3rd in his AG and making his first podium (woot woot 🎉) and finally Diego Mosquera for placing FIRST overall!!! Huge congrats to each of you! Charlotte Gutierrez and Andrés Gutierrez raced in the sport category and placed 2nd and 4th in their age categories; nice work!

The final race also brought with it overall series and state championship awards. DIRTy Squirrels Racing took FOUR 2019 State Championships! Diego Mosquera in the Cat 3 40-49, Christian Crespo in Cat 3 19-29, Andrés Gutierrez in Cat 2 30-39 and Charlotte Gutierrez in Cat 2 30-39. Mihai took bronze in the Illinois Championship Series for Cat 3 30-39. Christian Crespo also placed 3rd overall in the series, and Charlotte Gutierrez placed 1st.

We are so excited to have had another successful XC racing season which includes our four state champs as well a successful regional championships which saw Charlotte Gutierrez on the top of the podium in the sport 30-39, Christian Crespo in 5th place in Cat 3 19-29 and Cuco Perez in 4th in Cat 2 30-39.
