Daniel Kolar has been riding bikes for several years and began racing XC last year.

 

Daniel has an extensive history racing BMX, Motocross, Hare Scrambles, Enduros, as well as foot races and Adventure Races.

 

He is currently racing Category 3 in XC. Daniel also enjoys racing Cyclocross, and spends time training on the road. When he’s not racing bikes, Daniel enjoys hiking, participating in civic organizations, traveling, and being an awesome grandfather.

 

His favorite trails include Ballinastoe Mountain near Dublin IE, and Hatchery Creek in Hayward, WI.

 

Dan is proud of recovering from a significant injury in April 2019, to race again in August. He says that his return to racing was only possible only with the wonderful support of his fellow Squirrels.

 

Dan rides bikes because – “My love affair with bicycles started many years ago. Through high school I apprenticed and worked as a bicycle shop mechanic. Years later I became partners in a bicycle shop in a Chicago suburb.

 

Whether building fitness, exploring new trails, or taking a simple ride around the block, I enjoy the simple pleasure of being on the bike and the social interaction with my fellow cyclists.“
